Hawaiian cop spray-painted

You would think there were many more altogether more exciting and come to think of it, more legal, things to do in Hawaii than spray-paint a cop - surfing and hula dancing spring immediately to mind.However one 51-year-old man in the paradise island decided these pursuits were not enough for him so he set to work on a police officer, according to a Metro newspaper report.
He adopted this particularly non-sensical course of action after a policewoman tried to arrest him for painting the road outside a shopping centre in Honolulu.
She had warned him to stop using the gold-coloured spray paint but for some unknown reason he refused, at which point he let rip with his spray-can.
Apparently he also grabbed hold of the officer's leg.
Then other police officers joined in the fun by showering him with their pepper sprays.
The end result was that the man was detained on charges of first-degree assault against a police officer, as well as third and fourth degree criminal property damage.
There are no reports as to when onlookers stopped laughing.
