Top hotel restaurants get makeover

Published on: 07-Dec-2007
Three of London's most prestigious hotels have had their restaurants renovated.

The building firm Lambro Contracts oversaw the redevelopment of eateries at Hilton's Park Lane, Metropole and Heathrow properties.

All three sites were being worked on simultaneously with apparently little disturbance to hotel guests.

The Podium restaurant at Park Lane is arguably the most dazzling transformation.

Its previous 130-seat Park Brasserie concept has been replaced by an eating area with a unique atmosphere created from drawings and details by interior designers, The Manser Practice.

Features of the Podium include the polished and beautifully carved polished wood walls of the entrance.

At the London Metropole, Lambro worked with design company Jestico and Whiles to create an area featuring a mix of ceramic, vinyl and timber flooring.

Hilton's Heathrow hotel has combined the expertise of Lambro and The Manser Practice to produce a stunning new restaurant under two large fabric canopies.

Lambro Contract's sales manager Keith Shirley told trade magazine Buildingtalk: "The contract to create three restaurants was very interesting for all the people who worked on it."

It remains to be seen whether Hilton's trust fund celebrity heiress, Paris, pops by for lunch.
