Ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney is reportedly 'obsessed' with an oil painting entitled The Guitar Player. He is said to be mesmerised by the picture of a teenage girl strumming a guitar and stares at it to help him come to terms with his increasingly bitter divorce battle with wife Heather.
Sir Paul regularly spends up to 40 minutes transfixed by the work, painted by 17th century artist Jan Vermeer, in London's Kenwood art gallery
A source talking to the website femalefirst, said: "He uses the gallery as a haven during his divorce."
Money-bags Macca has reportedly approached English Heritage with a view to purchasing the work, worth around £50 million, but the arts body has so far refused to sell.
It would appear the picture is having some sort of effect on him as unconfirmed reports have suggested he is dating again.
