Banksy may be banned in spoof art competiton

A spoof art competition set up to ridicule the "pretentious" Turner art prize may ban a piece of work thought to be by graffiti artist Banksy.Signed 'Banksea', the picture of a faceless figure holding a rocket launcher could be kicked out by the judges because they said "too much work had gone into it".
The 'Turnip' award is held every year in a Somerset pub and was set up nine years ago to celebrate bad art and poke fun at what it perceived as the pomposity of the Turner prize.
Organiser Trevor Prideaux said the 'Banksea' picture, which had all the hallmarks of the real thing, had been left on his doorstep.
He added: "It does seem to be in Banksy's style and the fact it was left anonymously on my doorstep does add to the possibility that it could well be one of his."
Banksy, whose work sells for thousands of pounds, is notoriously illusive.
Recent reports have suggested that the artist had been snapped on a mobile phone camera - if true, the blurry image is the closest anyone has come to actually catching him in action.
