London loan Falmouth favourite

The National Gallery in London has called on the Falmouth Art Gallery for a loan of one of its most popular paintings.The artwork making the journey to the capital is Animals Leaving the Ark: Mount Ararat, by Filippo Palizzi.
And the gallery has also loaned out John Opie's famous A Beggar Boy, for a separate exhibition closer to home at the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro, thisiscornwall reports.
Commenting on the paintings, gallery curator, Brian Stewart told the publication: "These high profile loans add to a list of more than 350 successful loans that Falmouth Art Gallery has made in the last five years."
Recently, a collection of artwork worth more than £130 million was loaned out to art galleries across the country by Southampton City Council.
The artwork was loaned to a range of institutions from traditional art galleries to other more diverse venues such as cruise ships.
