Impressive amateurs show unique artwork

Falmouth's most talented amateur artists have been given the chance to let the public see the fruits of their labour at a local exhibition. The show, running at the towns Methodist church until October 6th, has given a platform for more than 40 members of the Falmouth Art Society to showcase their gifts.
And impressed residents have already purchasing their favourite pieces at an early private viewing, thisiscornwall.co.uk reports.
Society chairwoman Sue Stevenson told the publication: "We're a very forward society and it's reflected in how successful we have been - three paintings sold on the first night.
"It's been a fantastic start that tells you how different we are to the normal arts and crafts society. Last year we had 2,000 people through the doors.
"And we get some people just waiting for us as this is our only show of the year."
She added: "There are marinescapes and abstract works - everything you can think of and all different media so it's quite exciting and there's something for everyone.
"And it's all very affordable so people often walk through the town to all the galleries and then come back and buy from us."
