Budding homeless artists who had their artwork destroyed in a blaze have been given a helping hand by a local housing association.

Cyrenians Cymru a charity helping the destitute had its Swansea based art gallery gutted by a fire, losing hundreds of pieces of work in the process.

But the generous Gwalia Housing Association has donated vacant rooms at its headquarters so the artists can continue their painting, the Swansea Evening Port reports.

Administrator for the charity, Sally McDonald praised the help received from the association and told the publication: "We are very grateful,"

Urging people to help the charity by bidding on the pieces, she continued: "We haven't a licence to sell anything but bids can be made on the internet.

"It will give them something to work towards."

Meanwhile, British oil painter, Andrew Talbot has unveiled his new works in a gallery in Cumbria, with buyers and collectors around the world expected to visit.
