British celebrity contemporary artist Stella Vine has withdrawn from an appearance at her artwork exhibition.Vine, who has been elusive since the start of her exhibition in July, will miss a talk with Germaine Greer at the Modern Art Oxford gallery tonight (September 18th), the Independent reports.
Commenting on Vine's decision not to attend, a spokesman for the gallery told the publication: "No, Stella won't be taking part in the talk on Tuesday evening. We think she may have pulled out for personal reasons.
"As for her coming into the gallery, she was in here all the time while we were getting things set up because she was overseeing the installation."
Vine, whose real name is Melissa Jane Robson, shot to prominence when her piece entitled: Hi Paul Can You Come Over?, a grim portrait of Princess Diana, was snapped up by Charles Saatchi in 2004.
