Outdoor artwork in vogue in Sussex

Sussex county officials have painted a giant mural over a local eyesore in an attempt to bring art to the masses and reduce vandalism in the region. The Brighton and Hove City council have painted over the boarding of an abandoned hotel at the Pool Valley coach station with a reprint of the Alice Maude Fanner painting, The Seaside, the Argus reports.
And the building is not the first in the region to receive such treatment - a disused Cancer Research shop has been used as the canvas for a reproduction of the painting Brighton Front.
Commenting on the scheme council leader Brian Oxley told the publication: "Brightening up this hotel in Pool Valley was particularly important - it was a real eyesore and created a bad first impression for the thousands of visitors who arrive in the city by coach.
"Brighton and Hove has a reputation as an artistic and creative city and this is an imaginative approach to tackling anti-social behaviour."
Meanwhile, a public facility in Soho, London has become part-toilet and part-art galley after it was officially opened today.
The toilet is aimed at children and disabled people who need a little sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the region.
