Birmingham set for artwork extravaganza

Birmingham is gearing up to host the 2007 ArtsFest, which will feature a range of traditional artworks and performance arts.The Visual Arts Village will play host to the mainstay of the festival, the art exhibition, and will include canvas art and print making, featuring exhibits form the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.
Art lovers will also get the chance to take home a piece with them from the 'Painting on the Railings' segment, where a range of professional and amateurs will be displaying their contributions of visitors to purchase and take home.
The most impressive part of the celebrations will by the 'Luminarium' a 50-metre-long air sculpture which visitors can enter and look around its assortment of tunnels and winding passages.
ArtsFest runs from the September 14th to the 16th and will also feature music, dance and comedy.
Last year's event attracted in excess of 100,000 visitors.
