World renowned contemporary art and furniture will be available for auction next month through Christie's Frieze Art Fair.

The collection has been valued at £8 million and includes the "Lockheed Lounge" chair by Marc Newson, once used by Madonna in a music video, and Andy Warhol's famous "Airmail Stamps", Bloomberg reports.

Commenting on the lucrative auction, Amy Cappellazzo, Christie's co-head of contemporary art, told the broadcaster: "We're expecting broad interest in the collection,'

"You'll see U.S. decorators bidding with Europeans, old timers with pop art collections, and California people."

The collection is currently owned by a couple based in Europe who claim they bought some of the items for as little as £10,000 - the Warhol stamps alone are expected to fetch in excess of £1.8 million.

The Frieze Art Fair runs from October 11th to 14th and last year had more than 60,000 visitors.

Meanwhile, Ryedale will host a series of works in remembrance of September 11th. Castle Howard will be the home of the of Carl Laubin, a New York artist who painted Ground Zero on canvas.
