Two school friends have joined forces to display their unique artwork at the Godalming museum in Surrey.

Heather McCall and Julia Noles have been chums since their days in education, but this is the first them they have showcased their work together, the Surrey Advertiser reports.

Between them the duo will display a range of canvases, sculptures and prints which will be open to the public until September 22nd.

One of the most striking pieces on display is a series of flowers painted on silk by Ms Noles. Commenting on the piece she told the publication: "The colours melt into the silk and the layers of wax and paint combine to give a wonderful ‘painterly’ effect."

Meanwhile, a new wall art mural, designed for a coffee shop in Swansea, is set to be unveiled.

The art deco art work will stand in Coffee Culture refreshment bar on the first floor of a Waterstone's book store.
