New wall art for bookstore opening

Published on: 05-Sep-2007
A wall art mural is set to be the centre of attraction at the opening of a new coffee shop in Swansea.

The art deco piece has been created for a branch of Waterstones and will stand proud of place in the bookstore's first floor refreshment stop, Coffee Culture, the Swansea Evening Post reports.

Commenting on the new mural Coffee Culture director Barry Mortlock told the publication: "The new mural is beautiful and in the art deco style to match the building,"

He added: "To mark the occasion, we'll be offering customers £1 coffees on the day."

Meanwhile, three art tutors in Derbyshire who formed their own classes for a selection of pupils are running their own exhibition.

The group was formed independently by the trio after a row with the management of the Access to Art organisation, which they help found, the Derby Telegraph reports.

The group was set-up to help students who are disabled or who have learning difficulties, to enjoy art.
