Preston is set to stage an exhibition featuring contemporary art honouring its most famous citizens. As part of ambitious plans to add to the cultural significance of the Lancashire town, the council and the University of Central Lancashire hope to unveil a mile-long, "walk around museum", the Lancashire Evening Post reports.
Initial plans suggest that artwork may include work by Nick Park, the creator of Wallace and Gromit, and a piece featuring inspirational suffragette Edith Rigby.
It is thought that many of the other pieces will focus on the historical figures of Preston and its city landmarks.
Meanwhile, Yonia Fain - a 93-year-old artist who lived through the First and Second World War, will unveil an exhibition featuring 100 of his historical paintings.
The exhibition will open at the London Jewish Cultural Centre later this year, The Ham and High reports.
He told the publication: "I have seen murder - the most horrendous things. I survived, it is an accident I survived, but I have to paint what I saw, as well as the positive things that surprise us."
