Young artist to unveil canvas art creations

A bright young contemporary artist from Northumberland is set to unveil an exhibition of her dramatic canvases next month.Maria Cooper, an ex-barrister, will have her unique artwork on show at the Pebbles Art Cafe and Gallery in Allendale throughout September, the Hexham Courant reports.
After giving up her legal career to be a full-time mother, Maria picked up a paintbrush and hasn't looked back since.
Her displays of paintings are renowned for their diversity and she touches on a range of different subjects from sea life to autumnal landscapes.
Meanwhile, the Pitlochry Festival Theatre's art gallery has unveiled its third exhibition of the year.
The display will feature more than 200 works from of range of Scotland's top canvas visionaries including Lillias Blackie, Richard Aldred and Alan Finn, the Perthshire Advertiser reports.
The Theatre expects another good turnout and it is their third major exhibition of the 2007 season.
