Three rare pieces of canvas art by William Blacklock will be displayed at the Wordworth Museum in Grasmere, Cumbria. The artworks, including a piece that was voted Cumbria's favourite, depict scenes of the countryside and have been loaned to the museum for public viewing, the News and Star newspaper reports.
Blacklock's paintings, including the county favourite of Miller's homestead, were all completed in the mid 19th century and are seldom on show.
Commenting on the work of the artist, David Wilson, a director at the museum, told the publication: "Although not well known outside Cumbria, Blacklock is a painter who has attracted some very high praise."
Meanwhile, unique artwork of a different kind has been up for charity auction on the internet.
Painted by pop artist Nicolosi, signed canvas artwork of 60 A-list celebrities such as George Clooney and Leonardo Di Caprio is now available to buy with the proceeds going to good causes such as the Princes Trust.
