New wall art exhibition opens

A new exhibition displaying aviation themed wall art has opened in Coventry.The collection of contemporary and classic paintings will be on view until September 1st at the Midland Air Museum.
Run by the Guild of Aviation Artists the exhibition features works by Roy Garner and John Dimond, icCoventry reports.
Urging people to come and view the paintings, Barry James, the museum's chairman of trustees told the publication: "It's a chance to see this work of substantial quality."
He added: "The museum is run by volunteers who have put the exhibition together."
There are around 150 pieces in the collection ranging from war time paintings of Spitfires to pictures of aircraft and their surroundings.
Meanwhile, Southampton City Council looks set to loan out some of the region's finest work so it can be enjoyed by the public.
Of Southampton's £130 million worth of artwork fewer than 500 of the 3,500 pieces are on display.
