Published on: 16-Aug-2007
A hugely popular Tate Modern exhibition will soon come to an end, after delighting thousands of contemporary art enthusiasts for several weeks.Global Cities examines Cairo, Istanbul, Johannesburg, London, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Mumbai, Sao Paulo, Shanghai and Tokyo.
All of the cities are explored through the five thematic lenses of speed, size, density, diversity and form and visitors are introduced to films, videos and photographs by more than 20 artists and architects.
The exhibition is aesthetically stunning and the positioning of the various photographs highlights the potential of using photo art on canvas.
London is used as the touchstone for comparison, which means the remaining nine cities are examined in terms of their differences and particular nuances.
It is certainly a unique art exhibition and enthusiasts are encouraged to head to the popular gallery before August 27th.
Also taking place at the Tate Modern this summer is a Dali exhibition, described by the Financial Times as the gallery's "most enjoyable, intelligent, original and stunning exhibition since Matisse Picasso".
