Unique art experience will highlight climate change

Volunteers are being sought for a unique art project that will see participants taking off all their clothes on an ice-cold Alpine glacier to highlight the effects of global warming.

The intimate exposure is the latest unique art project of quirky American artist Spencer Tunick, who has previously attracted thousands of willing volunteers to nude shoots in London, Newcastle, Amsterdam and Mexico City.

Tunick's latest work is a collaboration with Greenpeace Switzerland and will see the eager environmentalists who sign up bare all atop a Swiss glacier. The stunt is planned to show the problem of receding glaciers across the globe, with Swiss glaciers among the most badly-affected in the world.

The unique art event takes place over the weekend of August 18th and 19th, although organisers insist that participants will only need to get naked for a short time.

Greenpeace estimates that if global warming continues at its current levels most Swiss glaciers will have disappeared by the year 2080.
