Business entrepreneur and TV star Peter Jones has splashed out for a piece of unique canvas art - which is designed from the makeup of his own DNA.

Berkshire-born Jones, famous for his role on BBC Two's budding business show Dragon's Den and now starring in ITV's Tycoon, commissioned the unique canvas art by taking a swab of his own DNA from his cheek, reports the People.

Peter, 41, then sent the sample of his genetic blueprint to a specialist Dutch company that specialises in creating canvas art pieces from the unique codes that make up each individual's DNA.

The personal picture service was set up in 2006 is the brainchild of advertising executive Rafael Redczus and Rudolf Wessels, a molecular biologist at the University of Groningen.

Jones's new prime-time show, meanwhile, sees six up-and-coming business experts given £10,000 start-up capital to invest - and then just ten weeks to prove that they are the top Tycoon.
