Fans of acclaimed Welsh artist Sir Kyffin Williams will get to glimpse his life and works from every angle when a huge collection of both his canvas art and his personal belongings comes up for auction.

Sir Kyffin, who passed away last year, carved a strong reputation during his long career for his distinctive canvas art
landscapes, often depicting brutal but beautiful scenes from his native Wales countryside.

Now, 28 pieces of his canvas art together with other personal items and home furnishings - including Sir Kyffin's favourite easy chair and some of his cherished antique items - will be put up for sale in Bath, reports the BBC.

Explaining the inclusion of the personal items in the sale, Jeff Muse, from auctioneers Bonhams, commented that such pieces may collectors of Sir Kyffin's work to gain a deeper understanding of the artist.

"These are the things that people do not see, the kind of things behind the canvas, of the man himself, that he used from day to day."

"It's a real kind of eclectic mix from the mundane through to historic things," Mr Muse also added of the collection.

One of Sir Kyffin's most famous pieces of canvas art, a dramatic oil called Rocks At Glyderfach, is predicted to collect anywhere between £30,000 and £50,000 at the auction.
