Lottery winner celebrates magic moment by going back to shelf-stacking

A man who realised that he had just scooped a £4 million win on the National Lottery chose to celebrate his magic moment with the only thing he could think of - by going back to his job of stacking supermarket shelves.

Neil Murray, 27, from Cults, Aberdeenshire, realised he had gone from earning little more than the minimum wage to multi-millionaire during a lunch break at the Costcutter store where he worked as assistant manager.

"During my break at lunchtime on Thursday I got a print-out of the winning numbers from the night before to check my numbers," said Mr Murray.

"I just couldn't believe what I was seeing, so I asked my boss to look at them.

"I said to him 'could you check this, because I think I am going mad'."

His boss's reaction was rather less restrained than his own, Mr Murray commenting: "I think he swore at me."

After finishing his shift, Mr Murray then celebrated the magic moment by treating himself and wife Jenny to a Chinese takeaway that evening - and unbelievably carried on working for two more days before quitting to pursue his dream of a law career.ADNFCR-1042-ID-18177307-ADNFCR
